A white sunny nothingness - Danilo Sierra
Noche nevada. Oranienplatz, Berlin 2013.
What did I tell you to do, anyway?
Today I saw something special, the first rise of temperature (don’t get too excited yet though) being today of about 6 degrees celsius along with the sun. This also led to a pretty obvious observation, people love the sun, specially Berliners and their dihcotomic mood. I saw today tons of people walking around Alexanderplatz, with a general better mood than normal.
I am glad sunnier times are coming, I am little in need of warm temperatures already.
I am taking pictures for the online art magazine Berlin Art Parasites and my job lately has been going to art openings, meeting the artists, the cool people who go there for the opening, have a beer and photograph them with the -normally- amazing pieces of art. How cool is that?
The current pictures are from the “Hester” exhibition by the artist Asger Carlsen that happened at the Dittrich & Schlechtriem gallery. I loved it there! The pieces were really appealing for me as a photographer.
Read the whole story here and get some of the Berlin Art Dengue!
When walking in the city always remember to twist your neck to some random direction and you will, most likely, find a graffiti of some sort that you will love. Yes, it is almost too much graffiti here, and I love it.
I am afraid of betrayal. Specially betrayal made by myself to others. It has been seven months that I have been living in Berlin, the city of the young lust for self-pleasure and culture, and I can see already how absorbed I am in this freedom I have always dreamed of. To me, I am already divorced from my past, my roots, and totally married to my love for this new life I have. I am not a Berliner, but at least I can tell that I am not very much Honduran either. I am talking about myself, but I bet what you will read here represents much of the feelings of many people who migrate out of a Latin American country in search of their dreams (Wether to US, Europe, or any other place in the first world).
And want some pictures taken for free? (Good for your band, startup, model portfolio, or simply for fun) I will be donating my capabilities on the weekends until the last weekend of march. You can book via email!
C’mon, give it a try. I promise it will be fun.
